Wow… I can’t believe that it’s been two years since bunny and her gal crew first came to LA for their party weekend. Now, I’d like to think that we had planned the whole weekend from the start to hang out together, but I guess it just happened to be a chance encounter….
*CUE FLASHBACK SCENE
Ext. George’s bistro in the Promenade, Santa Monica – late afternoon
Yes, the stars must have been aligned that night 2 years ago (cheeze), as I decided to meet the bunny crew for dinner at the outdoor Promenade shops. We began the night sitting down to a delicious Italian meal while enjoying the vibrant activity of the street performers and passer-bys. Afterwards, we treated ourselves to scoops of gelato around the corner. Bunny still remembers how much she loved the hazelnut flavor! 🙂
The evening didn’t end there however. We all walked back to my apt and immediately went to work on the bottle of grey goose in the fridge. Warmed up and ready to rock, we were off to take on the bright lights and action of the Boulevard 3 nightclub in Hollywood…
The whole night was a wonderful blur of pop music, drinks, dancing and topped off with a balloon and confetti drop at midnight! After we left the club, the night proceeded on with a failed attempt at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles (who knew they closed at 3am?) and a consolation chicken strip/fries combo at Swingers cafe in Santa Monica. It was an end to a good night as Bel and I both slumped down in the booth and noticed that we were holding hands.
The next evening was another epic adventure as we started off at Musha for an Izakaya-style dinner. Filled with good food and pitchers of beer, we decided to meet my cousins and their friends afterwards at a club called Air Conditioned nearby. The drinks and good times flowed all night but when 2am came around, the bunny crew was wondering where the afterparty was! lol! So after a bit of planning, we decided to go back to Hollywoodland! The electronic music, glowsticks, random 50-year-olds refusing to be called grandpa asians (ugghh), and the bunny crew were in full effect as the party went on and on. As we left the club, the morning sunlight outside was signal enough that we fully enjoyed another night together.
*END FLASHBACK
Ok, let’s snap outta this and flash-forward to present. Bunny and I just celebrated our anniversary today by having dinner at Ruth’s Chris. We both ordered the rib-eye 3 course meal and glasses of wine. Yum! Just as the waitress brought out our first course the fire alarm started ringing! Baaaaaarrrp… baaaaaaaarrrp… Lol! After standing outside in the cold for about 30mins, we went back in and finished the rest of our meal. Thank god our steaks didn’t arrive before the alarm went off!
Happy anniversary bunny and to many more!
