We’ve been trying to find new places to explore with the kids, and we thought if would be fun for them to ride the ferry for the first time!
For our first ferry boat trip together, we chose an afternoon trip to Sausalito!
We bought our tickets from the ticket machine outside the ferry building in San Francisco and patiently stood in line. The line to get into the ferry seemed pretty long at first, but the line moved quickly once the boat arrived.
It was such a nice and sunny day, that we decided to sit outside on the front deck of the boat.
The boat started to move and we were on our way!
We quickly found out after a few minutes that the front of the boat was not for us. The wind was whipping everywhere, and the temperature was freezing despite the sun being out.
But not a problem! There were plenty of seats inside the ferry so we moved there instead, which worked out perfectly.
It was nice and warm inside, and the kids looked out the window while they snacked on some chips we purchased from the snack bar.
After lunch in Sausalito, we spent some time walking around the city.
The kids found a toy shop where they had a lot of fun playing with the different toys inside.
After a fun afternoon in Sausalito, we headed back to the ferry boat.
Once back in San Francisco, before heading home we took a quick tour of Bel’s office.
We’ve been inside the GAP building lobby before, but this was our first time going up into the work office areas. The kids had a lot of fun seeing Bel’s office desk, sitting in her chair, and running outside on the patio!

It was a fun day of exploring!
