Whew, what a year!
The U.S. ended the year with records and milestones (not in a good way): New York state and Florida, each hit hard as the coronavirus ravaged across the nation, broke their previous daily records for cases. California became the third state to pass 25,000 fatalities, after New York and Texas. Vaccinations in the U.S. began Dec. 14 with health-care workers, and so far 6.25 million doses have been given. Globally, cases pass 83.1 million; deaths exceed 1.8 million.
As of today, Jan 7, 2021:
- 274,703 new cases reported today in the U.S. (Most new cases today)
- 856,222 new cases reported today worldwide
- 1,905,912 total deaths reported worldwide
- 17,501,563 total vaccine doses administered in 38 countries
I created a 2020 Year-In-Review video that documents of all the defining moments for our family this past year. Although it was impossible to capture everything, I hope that in the future we can look back and appreciate a small slice of these unprecedented times.
In 2020… we were grateful that we had each other.
