Today was a day like no other I’ve ever experienced in San Francisco.

We woke up to a dark, red and orange sky today that looked like something you would see on the surface of Mars!

At the moment, thousands of acres of land are burning from the wildfires all around the Bay Area (and State). It’s 9am, and the smoke is so thick that that the streetlights are on outside and you can’t see anything in the distance from our balcony.

From the news: “What’s really going on this morning now is all this smoke is being wafted up by these strong winds up to about 3-5,000 feet. And with these particulates up in the air it’s actually acting like a filter,” said National Weather Service meterologist Drew Peterson. “So only the red, oranges and yellows are really kinda making it through the smoke layer from the sun.”

So crazy!
