Daren just recently started to learn about coins and their values for his school addition/subtraction homework, so this seemed like the perfect time to teach both kids about the importance of money! Jordan was excited to get his own bank also!
The banks are actually pretty fancy where paper money can automatically slide in through a battery-operated slot on the front, and they can even set up their own personal passcode to open/close. They started putting their money in right away!
We’ve always tried our best to teach the kids about being responsible with their own money. The kids have already been slowly saving their own money though random chores, birthdays, and Chinese new year envelopes. So far they’ve been pretty good about not spending too much at once, and saving for something special. Daren wants to save up for a Nintendo switch!
