So I never imagined the day when I would see panic buying at the grocery store. I mean, I’ve seen it in the movies, sure. But to see it happen in real life is surreal.
Since we only live a half-block away from the Safeway, we don’t tend to keep a lot of food stocked up in our house. So it’s kinda crazy to walk through the aisles and see store shelves completely empty! Very apocalyptic in a dark way.
I snapped a few quick pics while doing some last minute shopping at Safeway. Everyone else around me seemed pretty calm despite the shortage of certain items.
In the rice & beans section, as you can see, only a handful of packages were left on the shelves.
The boxes of pasta were also almost empty, along with the jars of pasta sauce.
The canned soups were slowly emptying out as well. I’m not sure how much stock each supermarket has (hopefully a lot), but hopefully they will be able to replenish the items for a while.
Also, apologies for the blurry pic. Didn’t want to anyone to catch me looking like the random guy taking pictures of soup cans at the grocery store, ha!
