Uncle Tracy and Kelcey came for a visit this weekend, and we thought it would be tons of fun for a last-minute getaway to Monterey!
The drive to Monterey was about ~4 hours, and we stopped once or lunch at Phil’s fish market along the way. The food was pretty good, and there were plenty of seafood options to choose from.
I chose the cioppino and Bel got the fish and chips!
This was our first time staying at the Marriott hotel in Monterey, and our first impression was pretty good! Our bed was pretty large to fit all the kids comfortably so that was great!
Also, the price for 2 rooms was pretty cheap at ~$175 per room, and I was able to use points to make it even cheaper!
The hotel is located about a ~5 min drive from the aquarium, but we found out there was a free trolley service that takes you there so we decided to try it!
Super easy and convenient!
Also, the kids both loved riding in the trolley!
We had a lot of fun exploring the aquarium together. There were lots and lots of different marine animals to see, and a really great tide pool area for the kids (and uncles)!
In fact, I think the uncles had just as much fun as the kids!
The hotel also had a pool where we relaxed after our day at the aquarium!
I’m glad we all got to spend time together on this quick weekend getaway!
I hope the Uncles come to visit again so we take take more fun trips like these in the future!
