Although we didn’t get to go on our annual Hawaii vacation this year due to the ongoing covid pandemic, we managed to plan the perfect getaway to Lake Tahoe!
For our one week stay in Tahoe, we rented a lovely 3 bed, 3 bath townhouse that was located on the Northstar Ski Resort property. The home was modern and wonderfully configured with high ceilings, modern kitchen, hot-tub, and loft-style bunk beds for the kids! Perfect!
The location was also incredible, in fact you can literally ski (during the winter) in and out from the outdoor deck! Throughout the week, we took the kids on a few low-key hikes along the neighboring trails, and also took advantage of the swimming pool that allowed for private group reservations.
Prior to the trip, I have to admit I was a little bit nervous about coming to Lake Tahoe since there had been news of recent spikes in covid cases in the area. Once here however, I was relieved to see that the entire area was surprisingly remote so we rarely ran into other people. A lot of the surrounding homes seemed empty during our entire stay as well.
(We actually tried to visit the lake during our trip, but got scared and called it off because we noticed there were too many people there without masks on. In the end, it worked out better that we stayed in our secluded hilltop ski area)
In the end, I’m so glad we went! It felt like a long time since we’ve been able to spend time with everyone without masks, so it was really, really great to enjoy some family time together!
We took a lot(!) of pics, and I also made a quick gopro video montage of our epic Tahoe adventure (using a fun “Pikuniku” theme, one of Daren’s favorite video game at the moment)
Enjoy!
